Five Senses of Home
Project Description
Student partners built prototypes and collected stories in order to explore the five senses of “home.” Home is more than a place. This pop-up exhibit investigates how our senses affect our perceptions of home.
Students tell personal stories through terrariums of home. Family recipe cards share the unique tastes that tell us we’re home. An iPad app investigates sounds of home, inviting visitors to create their own soundscape. The exhibition also prompts visitors to display their senses of “home.” As visitors add their perspectives, the exhibition continues to evolve as it "pops up" around Philadelphia: at The Franklin Institute's Science Carnival, String Theory, and Asian Arts Initiative.
