The Thread Starts Here: From Fiber to Fashion Presented by Philadelphia University
Join Philadelphia University for the official opening of its Fashion and Textiles Futures Center (FTFC) on Thursday, October 13, beginning at 2 p.m. See for yourself how the Futures Center is a hub for innovation through the integration of education, research and practice. We’ll host a series of short talks, demos and hands-on activities in textiles and fashion. Check out smart fabrics, wearable technology, and fashion forward trends for the home. Discover how much of the world around us is made up of textiles.
The Fashion and Textiles Futures Center is the model for a 21st-century, state-of-the-art active studio and research facility that supports transdisciplinary learning, fosters collaboration, facilitates industry-sponsored projects and increases research opportunities for faculty and students. Find out how the Futures Center will advance the University’s innovative and highly regarded fashion and textiles curricula and enhance partnerships with industry leaders to more closely connect students to current and future jobs in an evolving marketplace.
